One of the most discussed pieces of news in the past 24 hours was Hideo Kojima’s departure from Playstation to Xbox with the game PHYSINT. The game was originally announced in 2024 with Playstation Studios management and was supposed to be a Playstation 5 exclusive. However, Sony decided to stop development, and Xbox later provided assistance to Hideo Kojima to complete the project.

Currently, PHYSINT doesn’t have a list of platforms for release, so it’s unclear whether the project will be an Xbox exclusive or will appear on Playstation as well. The game doesn’t have an expected release date – 2025, and in an interview with Kojima, he said the project is still “5-6 years away,” meaning its release target should be towards the end of the current decade.

When the partnership between Xbox and Hideo Kojima was announced at PHYSINT, there was no mention that the game would be released on Game Pass. Typically, all projects from third-party studios fully funded by the Xbox team are immediately released and available on Microsoft services. But on the official blog Xbox linein which Asha Sharma announced a collaboration with Hideo Kojima on the game PHYSINT, but made no mention of releasing it on Game Pass.

Let us remind you that Hideo Kojima’s team is now developing an OD game for Xbox as well. Additionally, it has been officially announced that it will be released on Game Pass subscriptions. OD is expected to be released earlier than PHYSINT; Kojima plans to focus on horror production this year.
