Therefore, Christopher Nolan’s latest film “The Odyssey” is a controversial project from the perspective of the final audience, but that does not prevent it from becoming the highest-grossing film in the history of studio Universal Pictures. By the way, it was founded even before the First World War – in 1912.

According to the publication type“Odyssey” grossed $1.68 billion: just over $600 million in the U.S. and $1.08 billion overseas. Taking into account its production budget of approximately US$250 million, it is not difficult to calculate that the film brought in 6.72 times more money from investors than its creative investment.
Previously, “The Odyssey” has been hailed as Christopher Nolan’s most expensive and highest-grossing film. But it’s worth understanding that this epic hemlock is far from a record holder in terms of the ratio of expenses to revenue: Nolan has a more profitable film in this ratio: the same Oppenheimer.
Furthermore, we should not forget that inflation is taking its toll and the purchasing power of hundreds of millions of dollars some 5-10 years ago is not even close to where it is today. A lot of people forget to mention this fact because then the whole idea of ”highest grossing” hits the bottom of the barrel, but in fact it’s the key.
