During the “Inside World of Warcraft: Forever” roundtable held as part of the BlizzCon 2026 exhibition, the developers of classic “World of Warcraft: Forever” talked about the fact that now players can not only choose a name for their character, but also a surname.
In addition to representatives from the teams involved in the development of World of Warcraft: Forever speaking about this, it was also noticed by those lucky enough to attend BlizzCon 2026 and get their hands on the new product in the form of a demo.
Just like a character’s first name, some rules apply to last names as well. For example, you won’t be able to use words that violate Blizzard policy (insults, trademarks, etc.), and if your imagination isn’t very good, the game will be able to generate a last name on its own. If you’re suddenly annoyed by a character’s name, you can always turn it off in the settings of the game itself.
