Opening BlizzCon with the announcement of a new game in the StarCraft universe wasn’t the main surprise of the ceremony, but general manager and creative director Dan Hay’s subsequent remarks surprised fans. According to the developer, the project is a story-driven open-world shooter (in the spirit of the series) far cry), but not a session service.

In an interview with Korean publication Inven Global, Hay emphasized that the game is produced according to the classic “boxed product” model, with a clear beginning, development and ending.

Players will be able to create their own characters and explore the vast open world. When encountering difficulties in story missions, they can find resources, upgrade equipment, and return to the passage at their own pace. Judging from the scale of development, it is not expected to be released soon.
