Bethesda has released a long-promised technical update for Fallout 76, which was released today to coincide with the launch of a new season titled Beware of the Blood Moon. This update improves the game’s performance on current-generation consoles, as well as the Pro version of previous-generation consoles.

After the update, here’s how Fallout 76 works on consoles:

  • Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 Pro. 4K resolution, 60 FPS.
  • Xbox Series S. 1080p resolution, 60 FPS.
  • Xbox One X. 4K resolution, 30 FPS.
  • Game console 5. 1440p resolution, 60 FPS.
  • Playstation 4 Pro. 1440p resolution, 30 FPS.

Also on Xbox Series X consoles | S and Playstation 5 players are getting some additional technical improvements. In particular, the developers significantly increased the draw distance and significantly updated the quality of shadows. Another important innovation in the current generation of set-top boxes is VRR support.

Fallout 76 updates are free. First tests show pretty solid framerates on Xbox Series X | 60 FPS with updated S rating. At the same time, we remember that 60 FPS in Fallout 76 was already available on current-gen consoles and Xbox Series X | S even earlier thanks to FPS Boost, back in 2023.
