Let’s remember that in April, Xbox announced that it would reduce the prices of Game Pass Ultimate (down from $30 to $23) and PC Game Pass (from $16.50 to $14) to the price of the new Call of Duty when it was released, and that it would limit access to Xbox cloud gaming for subscribers starting in November.

According to Slayven, starting in 2027, Game Pass will only have two plans: with ads ($13 per month) and without ads ($20 per month, $240 per year). All other elements, including Xbox Cloud Gaming, must be purchased:
- Xbox Cloud Gaming – $6 for 25 hours per month;
- Family plan – $6 per month;
- Online multiplayer – $11 per month;
- Game Pass + Online Multiplayer Package – $15 per month.
Insiders explain that the cost of the main tariff (formerly Game Pass Ultimate) was reduced from $23 to $20 because of Xbox’s complete refusal to add new games to Game Pass at launch (either their own or from third-party studios).

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier previously reported that multiple Xbox studio heads “Absolutely disgusting” Game Pass because the service devalues their games (games overall) and hurts the gaming industry.
Game Pass launched in June 2017 and reached an audience of 34 million people within seven years. By last summer, Xbox management wanted to double that number, but the move failed miserably.
