Robots build robots: UBTech launches humanoid machine smart factory

Chinese company UBTech Robotics announced the launch of the world’s first “smart” production base for the production of humanoid robots in Liuzhou, China, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units. The factory can produce one industrial humanoid robot every 10 minutes.

Factory area: 14,000 square meters2the building height is 13.8m. It mainly produces Walker S and Cruzr series smart industrial humanoid robots.

The company pointed out that the project relied on the intelligent planning of the industrial modeling system and the process coordination of the digital “intelligent brain” to put the “robots creating robots” production model into practice. This also means a new stage from laboratory prototypes and small-scale pilot production to large-scale smart manufacturing.

Siemens Digital Industry Software Company also participated in this project. This manufacturing operations management system was jointly developed by UBTech and Siemens and provides end-to-end digital closed-loop control covering work order planning, material distribution and quality control. The basis of the “one product, one code” traceability system is to assign a unique serial number to each robot.

On the production line, smart industrial humanoid robots (including Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2) perform pallet unloading, loading and material handling operations. The final assembly stage uses collaborative robots, auxiliary manipulators, self-driving vehicles and 360° rotatable worktables to achieve multi-angle high-precision assembly without moving the product, enabling flexible mixed production of different types of robots.

In the final stage of quality control, each finished robot undergoes more than four hours of comprehensive testing in a special tunnel with automotive-grade lighting that allows external inspection from all sides (360°) to rule out the presence of hidden defects.

UBTech also developed the industry’s first fully automated high-rise warehouse for storing humanoid robots. Area 65m2 It can accommodate 112 robots, increasing space efficiency by more than 50%.

The comprehensive smart logistics system, including automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), automatic forklifts and other vehicles, integrates all production stages from subassembly and assembly to testing and warehousing, ensuring uninterrupted production of 10,000 robots per year.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, national industrial robot production reached 98,677 units in July (an annual increase of 30.2%). From January to July, there were 63,5056 production equipment (an annual increase of 28.5%).
