Redemption Road Games has released a 12-minute gameplay introduction to their upcoming game Kingmakers. The film shows how to combine a third-person shooter with real-time strategy and use modern weapons against medieval armies. Unfortunately, a release date has yet to be announced.

In the story, the protagonist travels back 500 years to war-torn England. His mission is to change the course of the historical conflict and save the future from an impending apocalypse. To do this, the player must fight the knight using machine guns, shotguns, and grenade launchers.

The arsenal is not limited to small arms. Supporters have access to armored SUVs, motorcycles, attack helicopters and air strikes. Battles take place in real time, and thousands of soldiers can be on the battlefield at the same time. Each fighter operates under the control of a separate artificial intelligence, which is responsible for decision-making, pathfinding and loyalty.

Players will switch between personally participating in battles and commanding armies at any time. Under control are archers, swordsmen, spearmen and cavalry. Orders can be given independently or some control can be transferred to an officer. The construction of fortifications, the distribution of troops, and the tactical preparation before new attacks are also provided.

Kingmakers has announced the launch of four-player online co-op. Three friends will be able to join the commander and lead their own armies at his side. Players will work together to conquer the castle and defend the allied fortress from hordes of enemies.
