MaybeMonsters Studio’s action game Crimson Moon is a new take on the familiar soulslike formula, combining hardcore combat with roguelike elements.
Although reviews on Steam were mixed due to optimization issues, the developers were quick to listen to the community and have released a patch that supports custom key and mouse settings.
Game director David Lesperance emphasized that a key concept of the project is respecting players’ personal time. The reality, he says, is that most people don’t have three or four hours of free time at a time, so Crimson Moon is structured to allow satisfactory progress even within a 15-minute game session. Soon, the studio plans to announce the first major content update, expanding combat capabilities and racial diversity.
