Lollipop Chainsaw , a cult zombie horror film about a cheerleader with a chainsaw developed by Japanese studio Grasshopper Manufacture, is getting a sequel 15 years after the original was released.

Copyright holder Dragami Games has partnered with Taiwanese investment firm Nada Holdings and Japanese development studio JP Universe declare Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is the sequel to the original game.
The events of the sequel will unfold in the film capital of Jared Wood, based on the newly rebuilt San Romero. Users will take on the role of cheerleader and zombie hunter Juliet Starling, a character familiar from the first installment.
In the story, a mysterious director locks Juliet inside his insane zombie movie. Together with her loyal allies, the heroine will uncover the conspiracy behind the chaos and stop the zombie threat from a twisted world.
The release of Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back did not come with a premiere trailer, however, a public demo was available at the Tokyo Game Show 2026 where it premiered (see 8 minutes) video clip How to play the game is as follows).
“Final Fantasy 15” director Gen Tabata, “Saw” co-writer Masahiro Yuki and original game designer NekoshowguN all participated in the development.
“Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back” is expected to be released on PS5 at least in 2027. They promise to preserve the spirit and dark humor of Lollipop Chainsaw and enhance all that is memorable about the 14-year-old project.
