Single-player mode in Dune: Awakening arrives with game’s release on consoles

Funcom has released a major update 1.5 for the multiplayer survival simulator Dune: Awakening. At the same time, the game is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the first time. Owners of the Deluxe and Ultimate editions can get early access, with the console’s official launch set to take place on September 22nd.

This update is not only designed for beginners, but also for players who have not logged into Dune: Awakening for a long time. Users who have been away from the game for 28 days or more will receive a special gift for returning players based on the player’s research level. To commemorate the launch of the console and the release of the update, everyone who logs into the game between September 17th and October 22nd will receive additional rewards. We are talking about housewife jewelry.

The main innovation is a full-fledged single-player mode. All Dune Awakening content can now be completed individually, including story missions, challenges, and Arrakis exploration. At the beginning of the article, you will be asked to select one of three difficulty levels or adjust individual parameters manually.

In single-player mode, the exchange operates as a merchant with a wide variety of goods, while Landslad mimics the behavior of other guilds. Coriolis Storm no longer instantly kills characters and resets Desert Hearts status. Progress in this area can also be saved. The Cartographer skill now increases the opening radius of the Fog of War.

Advanced settings are available in single player and on your own server. Players can change parameters for sandstorms, safe zones, resource extraction and experience, buildings, claimed areas, item durability, base destruction, sandworms, and Coriolis storms. What remains after death is also configured.

The plot of the first book has been completed. This update includes the final chapter, “The Great Congress. Part Three,” so now you can explore the entire story. All story missions also receive new rewards, including skins, weapon and armor options, and items to place at your base. Completed tasks will automatically bring rewards.

Several missions including “Echoes of the Past,” “Glutton,” “Paranoid,” and “Jackal” have been moved to different level instances. As a result, players will no longer have to wait for space to become available on crowded multiplayer servers. Some old bosses have also been transferred to the new system.

Dune: Awakening is now built around characters rather than a single server. The main menu displays the last selected hero, and the “Characters” tab allows you to view all created characters and select the world for the next game. Backup copies of bases and vehicles move with the hero. Single player characters are only available in single player mode. Official server heroes can be used on other official servers and can be transferred to private servers and your own server. Reverse transmission is not provided.

PC players can create their own server for friends or the community for free. It supports up to 40 concurrent players and requires no recurring rental fees, but equipment and maintenance remain the owner’s responsibility. This feature is available in experimental mode.

The game’s performance has been improved, including world flow, rendering, memory handling, collision and physics. The developers also redesigned the sandstorms and vegetation. The combat system has been changed in favor of melee combat: the blocking window has been expanded, non-player characters’ combined attack animations have been updated, the balance of enemy stamina has been changed, and the artificial intelligence has been improved to now use cover more frequently. If your character is backed into a corner, sprinting allows you to move through enemies.

Now, any part of Dune: Awakening can be completed in PvE mode without having to fight other players. In the official world, both PvE and PvP instances of Desert Hearts are available. In the PvP version, rewards are still increased, with mining and gathering resources bringing 2.5 times more materials. Haga Basin has been fully converted to PvE mode, including the crash site. Landsraad has also been reorganized around quests so that the final game can be played without PvP.

These changes impact property security. The base repair tool lets you save up to three copies of your buildings and even repair them in another world. Destroyed vehicles may be returned within 30 days using a backup copy by paying the sunroom fee. Bases outside of Desert Hearts can now be dismantled and materials returned along with stored items. The basic maintenance tax is cancelled, the item durability penalty after death is reduced from 5% to 2%, and equipment wear is halved.

Endgame is now based on missions related to combat, crafting, collecting, exploration, and destruction. Players must progress through twenty stages of development, starting with the Nameless Wanderer and ending with the Atreides Emissary or Harkonnen Executor. Improved manufacturers, vehicles, weapons, and survival tools no longer need to be mixed. This applies to both regular chemical decontamination stations and enhanced stations.

There are new locations to explore in Arrakis, including Smuggler’s Racecourse, Crimson Cave, Hive, Dyke Wreck, Old Quarry, Chimbo Ruins, and Wind Gap. Added six Imperial Test Stations with unique bosses and increasing difficulty. New weapons include salvo flamethrowers, twin blades, and blueprints for plastic weapons and armor. The developers have also added new dynamic events, contracts, and radio stations.

The specialization system lets you spend your development points on creating items, gathering, researching, fighting, and destroying. Enhancement has become a powerful modifier for sixth level unique weapons and armor. They can be obtained in the form of blueprints at test stations and created using resources obtained from Landslad missions.

In Arrakhan and Hako Village, it is possible to completely change the appearance of your character. Added new hairstyles, tattoos and more color options for equipment, vehicles, weapons and buildings. Vehicles, containers and placeable items can now be renamed. PCs now also have built-in controller support.

Developers reported improvements to anti-fraud protection. Issues with duplicating items, blueprints and solariums, restoring durability, leaving the map and traversing geometry have been fixed. Complaint tools and review action notifications have also been improved.

The paid additional content “Movie Files” will be released on September 22. It will add skins from Dune: Part 1 and Dune: Part 2, including the Shield of the Lost Path armor, the Kaladan Protective Cloak, the Harkonnen Cataptor and Atreide Hoplite armor, the Drifter’s Disticom, three sets of Sadoka armor, weapons, emotes, and a 73-piece construction set with 17 pieces. Ornaments.

Later this year, the free Polar Cap expansion will be released, adding new survival maps, ice biomes, new resources, items, mechanics, and a new storyline. The developer also plans to launch cosmetics based on the third installment of the “Dune” film trilogy, which is set to premiere on December 18.
