and how report Maxim Liksutov, Moscow’s deputy mayor for transportation, said these measures have resulted in a 25% reduction in the number of road accidents involving car sharing and a 40% reduction in fatalities over the entire eight months of this year compared with the same period last year.
As examples of such measures, Liksutov cited mandatory authorization of Moscow car sharing through the Mos.ru service, reaction to “cognitive tests”, inspections by inspectors, fines and restrictions on the use of the service for dangerous driving and traffic violations.
At the same time, the Moscow government provides subsidies for car-sharing operators to purchase new vehicles to keep their fleets modern and usable. Although this point is ignored by many people, it is actually a crucial aspect to ensure traffic safety.
