XLGAMES will be giving a more open look at the development of multiplayer action role-playing game ArcheAge Chronicles ahead of its launch into Early Access. Don has become the new global lead on the project and will provide regular updates on the status of the game, team plans, and changes made based on player feedback.
According to Tang, the Ancient Chronicles now has a complete foundation. The combat system, game world, location exploration, crafting and other peaceful activities, and multiplayer functionality all work properly. However, development continues. Some systems are being expanded, other ideas are being tested, and some decisions may change as the game reaches a wider audience.
“I want to be honest with you and tell you what Arche Chronicles is like today, because we think that’s more important than trying to create a picture that’s shaped by marketing,” Tang said.
The team hopes to use early access as a collaboration with players rather than as a formal testing period for the finished product. Developers intend to discuss the systems they are creating and the reasons for the decisions they make, present unfinished material and consider community feedback. Don also warned that teams can make mistakes and aren’t always able to respond immediately to player comments.
Ahead of launching into Early Access, XLGAMES plans to talk more about the combat system, character development, peaceful activities, world exploration, and player-to-player battles. The author will also reveal the Early Access start date, how much the game will cost, and how long buyers will be able to access the game.
