Multiplayer shooter Marvel Rivals has long been plagued by a large number of players deliberately disrupting matches, causing damage, or leaving the game during initially unsuccessful rounds.
NetEase has announced sweeping changes to its disciplinary approach, promising to significantly increase penalties for inaction, intentional loss of games and early dismissals.
As part of the new measures, the developers are introducing a separate ban system for quick games (previously they were common in arcades) and increasing the duration of search bans for violators. While the studio hasn’t revealed exact numbers yet, persistent violators will face longer ban periods designed to protect honest players from ruining their gaming experience.
