Active Matter, the multiplayer PvPvE shooter from Matter Team studio, was released on September 15, 2026, with unexpectedly impressive results for many.

The project, which combines elements of an action shooter with exceptional open-world exploration, has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on hundreds of reviews on the PlayStation Store (78% of which gave it the highest rating).

The game has also been successful on other platforms: the Xbox Series X/S version has maintained similar ratings, while on Steam the project has received mostly positive reviews (79%).

Despite a modest marketing budget and a non-AAA title, solid technical parts and in-depth gameplay allowed the developers to appeal to a wide audience.
