Battlestate Games has released a major update for multiplayer shooter Escape from Tarkov Arena. The patch redesigns BlastGang mode, which is designed for two teams of five players and offers battles on medium and large maps. Among them, the attacker must install the explosive device, and the defender must prevent the installation or neutralize the explosive before it explodes.
Instead of standard courses, the developers have introduced a flexible purchase system before each round. All participants start with basic equipment, then gain weapons, armor, and consumables. Players can prepare their own arsenal in advance, build a personal store, choose starting equipment and collect weapon modifications. This mode retains realistic ballistics, detailed armor and damage systems, and deep weapon customization.
Money is awarded at the end of each round, as is installing and dismantling explosive devices and destroying opponents. The size of the reward depends on the category of weapon used. Losing teams receive bonuses for losing streaks, and underfunded players can seek financial assistance from teammates.
The store supports quick purchases via hotkeys and full refunds for unused items. The economics of weapon mods should force teams to balance the cost and effectiveness of builds without reducing pairings to a single optimal loadout.
The update also redesigns Ref’s inventory, improves the progression system, and adds a modular DevTac Ronin helmet with interchangeable armor plates for the head and face. Additionally, there is a new battle pass that includes over 60 rewards including weapons, gear, and tactical clothing.
