YouTube channel REWA Technology today released one of the first teardown videos of the iPhone 18 Pro, giving you a look inside the new device. During the teardown, you can see the repositioned infrared camera, among other changes – for example, an enlarged 48 MP main camera with variable aperture.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models have a smaller Dynamic Island notch. This is accomplished by moving the Face ID system’s infrared camera below the display (in the upper left corner). The pixels located above the infrared camera have a special structure that allows infrared radiation to pass through, but at normal viewing angles, the screen looks completely normal.
The model shown in the video has a physical SIM card slot and therefore has a slightly smaller battery capacity than the eSIM-only version (sold in the US, Canada, Japan and some other countries). As expected, the battery capacity of this model is 4056mAh.
Teardown videos of the US iPhone 18 Pro Max should appear soon. It is expected to feature a Qualcomm cellular modem such as Snapdragon X80 or Snapdragon X85. According to Apple, the smaller iPhone 18 Pro uses Apple C2 modems globally. The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses the same modem in all countries except the United States.
