Evil Empire Studios has released a long-promised major update for Prince of Thieves of Persia, arriving just in time for the project’s one-year anniversary. The update is rolling out across all platforms, including Xbox for Game Pass subscribers. The game itself has been on the service since version 1.0 was released. Major changes awaiting players:

  • The main innovation is the addition of the “ice” element. With its help, you can freeze your opponents and interrupt their attacks. The protagonist is able to break frozen enemies. In addition, we have added freeze bombs and arrows, expanding the possibilities for new elements to be used in combat.
  • For experienced players, Prince of Persia now has more arenas with higher difficulty levels. Completing these tasks will earn you valuable rewards.
  • We’ve added statistics to allow you to evaluate a successful match in every detail. A “History” section also appears, containing material from previous unsuccessful attempts.
  • The protagonist now has the ice blade “Shamal Crescent” and “Fire Bracers” in his arsenal. According to the developers, they are both great for fighting protected enemies. In addition, the weapon has 4 upgrade slots.
  • The balance has been significantly updated. According to the developers, critical damage builds are now less effective than before.
  • The final boss has been redesigned to be more difficult. We’ve also changed the density of monsters in the levels, rebalanced some medal losses, shortened several levels and made other adjustments.

The full list of changes for the Prince of Thieves Anniversary Edition update can be found on Steam. Let us remind you that the developers recently reported that the game has crossed the 1 million player mark.
