Microsoft has been demonstrating at the Tokyo Game Show every year for more than five years. Traditionally, the event has placed a heavy emphasis on Game Pass subscriptions. But every year the announcements become fewer and fewer.
one of the users Reddit I decided to clearly show how many announcements there have been about Game Pass subscriptions at Tokyo Game Show in recent years compared to previous ones. This year, Microsoft showed a total of 7 games available for subscription at the event, but 2 of them were updates to existing projects, the other 3 were new information on previously displayed games, and only 2 were announcements.
Note that the size of Game Pass game announcements has also worsened in recent years. If last year Forza Horizon 6 was shown off at an event and announced for subscription, and in previous years it was a major release from Sega, Ubisoft and other publishers, this year’s Game Pass releases are all small independent projects.
Immediately following the announcement, Shape of Dreams became part of the Game Pass subscription.
