The developers of the MMORPG Camelot Unchained (which is in early access) have released update 0.49. The patch focuses on NPC behavior, lighting, and weather, and also makes changes to class combat abilities, sounds, and certain environmental elements.
The most significant changes affect NPCs. They no longer target invisible characters, stealth opponents, or players in shrouds. If the selected target becomes invisible, the NPC will stop pursuing it. During the chase, the character can also change targets if a more suitable enemy appears nearby. Previously, the NPC continued to pursue its original goals almost regardless of changing circumstances.
The author fixed a bug in the combat logic that caused NPCs to stop moving and become inactive. If an enemy moves out of sight, the character will now travel to the location where he was last seen and search the area for a period of time. If the target reappears within visual range, the pursuit continues. Otherwise, the NPC will return to the original area, begin patrolling, and react to new intruders.
A lot of attention is given to lighting. This update corrects overly bright areas in daytime scenes and overly dark areas in nighttime scenes, while also reducing solar glare and light intensity. These changes affect dynamic weather and should make traveling around the world easier. In Silver Mountain, additional environmental elements appear near the fortress.
Among other things, the developers increased the standard and maximum camera distance for characters, added new music tracks for points of interest related to mining and fishing, and also changed the priority and restriction system for voice lines. Many bugs have also been fixed.
