According to the developers, the team’s main goal is to protect traditional social experiences and guild structures that may be affected by raids transforming into commercial enterprises.
Blizzard knows the decision is controversial, but points out that GDKP creates a huge barrier to entry for newbies, encourages the purchase of in-game currency with real money, and becomes a convenient tool for bots to launder money.
