At Copernicus, the annual Polish science fiction festival, Andrzej Sapkovsky announced that he plans to complete a new novel in the Witcher universe by the end of 2027. At the same time, the author noted that the timing may change and the official release of the English version of the book will require additional time.
Just like the prequel to the author’s previous works “Crow’s Crossing”The new book will definitely not be a direct sequel or break the canon of video games, with its plot taking place after the events of the final book, The Lady of the Lake.
Sapkovsky himself has repeatedly emphasized that he considers the original to be complete, but he can always fall back on backstories and spin-offs in his favorite universes.
