Arrowhead has released update 7.1.0 for HELLDIVERS 2 – Unfree Abyss. This patch is mainly dedicated to fixes requested by players themselves, while also adding some competitive activities directly on the super destroyer.
One of the main innovations is a separate leaderboard for each super destroyer. Any player on a specific ship can play special games and enter local ratings. In this case, only one result is calculated for a person, so it is not possible to occupy multiple positions in the table at the same time. Clearly, there’s room for friendly competition even in the services of super-Earths.

The developers have also fixed some annoying gameplay issues. Enemies will no longer attack empty vehicles, and career statistics now correctly account for kills from mines, vehicles, drones, and backpacks. Additionally, a rare connectivity issue that could effectively prevent players from returning to combat, even after using reinforcement tactics or killing an entire squad, has been resolved.
The Ice Factory in the Arctic biome has been individually redesigned. They should no longer knock back or stun players with excessive force. Finally, arrows have updated the appearance of bug-infested areas around outposts and associated objectives. These areas are now better suited to specific biomes or planets, so they look different in different worlds. Haze and other effects in these areas have also been adjusted for better visibility.
These changes will not affect areas with high levels of infection, including the Underworld and the Hive World. There, Super Earth seems to have decided to leave things alone for now – apparently even the developers know when it’s best not to touch a particularly creepy place.
