Marvel’s Wolverine sold more than 1.9 million copies in three days of release

Despite a lukewarm reception from critics, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine is off to a great start. According to data from Alinea Analytics, in the first three days, the PS5 exclusive version sold approximately 1.9 million copies, bringing in approximately $130 million in revenue, with nearly 23% of sales coming from the physical version.

At the beginning of its launch, “Wolverine” has already surpassed the performance of the PS5 version of “Death Stranding 2”, which reached 1.8 million copies sold and $129 million in revenue in 14 months. In addition, the game became the most successful PS5 console exclusive game released in 2026, ahead of “Marathon,” “MLB The Show 26,” “Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls” and “Saros.”

Alinea Analytics believes that sales of “Wolverine” will continue, although the game’s performance will be far from the “Spider-Man” series. Analyst Reese Elliott noted that Spider-Man remains a more stable brand, while Wolverine has been able to attract audiences primarily because of character recognition.

The main market for the game is North America: the United States accounts for 53% of total sales. Purchases in other regions lagged significantly behind, underscoring the strong dependence of “Wolverine”‘s commercial success on U.S. audiences.
