Is Silent Hill another big horror movie returning to the big screen? The success of the recent Resident Evil movie reboot seems to increase the likelihood of this happening.
Resident Evil recently returned to the big screen under the direction of Zach Cregger, and the reboot of the franchise did not disappoint critics, the business community, or audiences. In turn, this could now mean that another major horror film, Silent Hill , could be returning to theaters in the form of a reboot.
according to a report fear center Konami is currently trying to find possible partners in Hollywood to bring the in-house horror franchise (and Resident Evil rival) back to the big screen. Here, this could also be a complete overhaul and full reboot of the film series.
Konami’s leadership staff are said to have been so impressed with the success of Capcom’s return of the film that they now want to emulate it in their own series. The Silent Hill video game series has been getting more attention again lately, and it’s basically fitting. A new spin-off of “Silent Hill: Fall” set in Scotland is about to be launched.
The last film adaptation of “Silent Hill” was called “Return to Silent Hill” and was released this year. As director, Christopher Gans made the first Silent Hill movie since 2006, and it probably won’t be the last in the near future. The film tells the story of James Sunderland, Eddie, and Laura from Silent Hill 2, but unlike Resident Evil, it didn’t get the best reviews. Now, with the possible reboot of the film series, that should change.
