Developers at Vincent Adinolfi Studio released the game Heartworm on Steam in July 2025. As the developers themselves put it, it’s a “horror game in the spirit of classic Silent Hill and Resident Evil.” It’s received “very positive” reviews on Steam, and now the developers have announced an imminent release on consoles. Heartworm will be released on Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 5, Switch 2, Xbox, and Playstation on April 14th.
The game follows Sam, who attempts to find a way to contact her beloved grandfather through a mysterious online forum after his death. In the story, she goes to a supernatural house in the mountains. Gameplay combines location exploration, classic puzzles, and some combat moments. Sam uses the camera as a weapon.
The project supports modern control schemes with a third-person perspective and shoulder aiming, as well as the option to choose classic controls with fixed movement direction. These settings include image pixelation and visual effects that mimic the functionality of first-generation 3D consoles.
Heartworm is expected to take approximately 4-6 hours to complete. The game has multiple endings.
