
This week, Activision officially announced that it will be responsible for the development of new games in the Halo series. Currently, Halo Studios still belongs to the Microsoft structure, but is only involved in supporting published games and supporting third-party projects (books, merchandise, etc.) in the series.

At this time, Activision has not specified what players can expect from the next Halo game. The only official comment from the publisher regarding the future of the series is as follows: “Our goal is clear: to create the best Halo game ever, worthy of its universe and legacy.”.
Back in August, news first revealed that Xbox was considering Activision as the publisher for the future of Halo. Meanwhile, Sledgehammer Games, the studio best known for Call of Duty, is said to have created a prototype for the new Halo. Meanwhile, Microsoft has yet to specify which specific studio within Activision will develop the series, stressing that a new team will be tasked with the task.
