In the seventeen years since its inception, the sandbox Minecraft has become a favorite game among at least two generations of gamers. Despite the long history of video games, Marcus Persson’s creation continues to evolve and attract more and more users, not even dozens, but hundreds of millions.
how report Asha Sharma, head of Microsoft’s gaming division, said that “Minecraft” has currently sold more than 425 million copies. By comparison, as of October 2023, the game had sold 300 million copies. In other words, in less than three years, “Minecraft” has gained 125 million users.
There have been countless updates to the cult game released over the years.
