An enthusiast working on running DLSS 5 neural filters on AMD Radeon graphics cards was able to significantly speed up his development in just one day. Two consecutive releases of the DLSS-NR-on-AMD project provided a total performance improvement of approximately 74%.
Initially, the Alpha 0.3.3 version brought about a 23% performance improvement compared to the previous version. On the same day, Alpha 0.4.0 was released, adding another 42%. As a result, when running Cyberpunk 2077 on a Radeon RX 9070 XT at a resolution of 3440×1440, the frame rate increased from approximately 24 FPS to 44 FPS.
This project is not an ordinary compatibility layer. Developers implemented a neural rendering environment for AMD architecture from the ground up using HIP cores, proprietary memory solutions, and integration with gaming FSRs. Currently supports Radeon RX 9000 and declares compatibility with RX 7000.
