Now you can play Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin exist There are no limits to collaboration from start to finish Thanks for a new module For the PC version. The project introduces “seamless” co-op gameplay, allowing you to play the entire game with one or more friends without the typical limitations of FromSoftware multiplayer games: no return to the guest’s home town after defeating a boss, no game interruption on death, no barriers or fog walls dividing areas.
If you enjoyed this experience, maybe you already guessed who is behind this project: the mod’s signer onlyIt is the developer of famous seamless co-op games such as “Elden Ring”, “Armored Core 6”, “Dark Souls Remastered” and “Dark Souls 3”. Dark Souls 2 was the last missing piece, and now you can finally count on its complete version.
This mod is available at Nexus modulewhich also contains all the installation instructions. Additionally, below you will find a video introducing its features and giving an overview of its capabilities.
How does this mod work?
As mentioned at the beginning, the seamless collaboration model creates a continuous cooperation system It allows you to play the entire adventure in a single shared session. Upon death, the player will respawn in the same world as the last bonfire used, without disbanding the group. Bosses and completed areas no longer send allies home, while all narrative events such as dialogue, cutscenes, and progression are synchronized between participants. you can explore Up to six players at the same time. After defeating a boss or invasion, players enter spectator mode until the party completes the fight or rests near a campfire.
To manage sessions, the mod introduces a series of specialized objects: one to host the game, one to join as an ally, one to invade as a hostile spirit, and still others designed to change the rules of the world, increase the frequency of invasions, or interact with the Covenant. Some of them are already fully functional, others are still under development.
There is also a series Improvements and useful features: Faster connections, the ability to instantly rejoin a session after disconnecting, additional interface options, mouse and keyboard fixes, borderless mode, skip points, and the reintroduction of some exclusive cosmetics.
FromSoftware, what Elden Ring Studio is doing between Duskbloods and Secret Projects
Since unlimited co-op inevitably makes the game easier, this mod includes Optional balancing system: Customizable scaling, bonfire restrictions during bosses, and a “pain” mechanism that increases difficulty after too many consecutive deaths. Supports hacking, but only if enabled in the config file: hostile spirits can enter the session and prevent bonfire usage until defeated. Likewise, those who want to invade can do so using the appropriate items.
Finally, the author points out There is no risk of this mod being blockedbecause it uses a separate save file and does not connect to FromSoftware’s pairing server. Obviously, as long as you don’t try to convert the mod’s saves into base game saves.
