The Apple A20 Pro chip installed in iPhone 18 Pro Max demonstrates desktop GeForce GTX 1650-level performance in GTA 5, which is about 15-20% higher than the legendary ultra-budget GTX 1050 Ti. The enthusiast ran the game on a smartphone through simulation and achieved an average frame rate of approximately 66 FPS when driving in the city, with frame rates as high as 80 FPS in other scenarios. The game runs on DirectX 11 at 1080p resolution.

The settings cannot be called minimal: high-quality textures, FXAA, 16x anisotropic filtering, 75% population density, 50% draw distance and sharp shadows are used. MSAA has been disabled. The developer noted that the project is still in the finalization stage and some issues still need to be resolved.

Energy efficiency is particularly impressive. The publication claims that the A20 Pro performs on par with the GTX 1650 while consuming significantly less power, with a performance-per-watt advantage estimated at 1,180%. Of course, it’s worth knowing that the GTX 1650 is over seven years old.
