The N224 is scheduled to be released between late 2028 and early 2029, so it’s too early to judge the device’s characteristics. Four versions of the concept are being considered in parallel, one of which is very similar to the recently proposed Meta✴ VR glasses, in which the battery and computing components are placed in a separate unit, do not need to be worn on the head. The current Vision Pro (pictured above) already uses an external battery, so all that’s left is to add a lot of computing components to further reduce the weight of the headband and frame.
At the same time, it cannot be said that Apple’s management unanimously supports this development direction of Vision Pro. Some decision-makers at the company strongly believed that the company should try to stick to a holistic design that integrated the major components into a single whole. In addition, in a few years, Apple’s processors may be significantly improved in performance levels and reduce heat dissipation, which means that the Vision Pro can definitely abandon the active cooling system.
