Multiplayer Resistance 2 It will be available again soon thanks to the work of modder VGFury, who is developing a project to restore online features of game insomnia gamepublished in 2008.
First test at alpha version A new video by shooting enthusiast Bitter Roman demonstrates this and documents the progress being made in the online recovery. Our goal is to restore the PvP component and co-op campaign that were an important part of the original experience.
Modders in action
Resistance 2 received mixed reviews upon release, but its multiplayer aspect received particular attention due to the ambition it showed. In fact, this game lets you solve Online gaming for up to 60 playerswhich was a particularly high number and the highest ever achieved by a PlayStation game at the time.
The official servers for Resistance 2 were shut down in 2014, making the original online mode unavailable. The VGFury project now aims to get them back operational, although for now Date not yet announced Completion or final public release.

However, Resistance 2 isn’t the only PlayStation 3 game the modder is working on. VGFury was also involved in the restoration of multiplayer games for Killzone 3 (whose servers shut down in 2018) and MAG (Zipper Interactive’s online shooter), which became unavailable after its servers shut down in 2014.
There are a lot of titles in the retro gaming space right now that are restoring lost models. For example, another side project is developing multiplayer for Sega Rally 2 on the Dreamcast, making online gaming available again more than two decades after the service shut down.
These interventions make it possible to restore methods that became inaccessible due to official server outage.
