In a brief press release, Sweden’s Enad Global 7 announced that its subsidiary Daybreak Game Company will be laying off employees at Cold Iron Studios, creator of the Alien: Fireteam Elite duology.
The layoffs are in accordance with a previously approved plan and are intended to reduce the studio’s operating costs and ensure sustainable operations in the future.

The studio will continue to develop and support Alien: Fireteam 2, including preparing a Nintendo Switch 2 version, currently scheduled for release in early 2027. The co-op shooter launched a month ago to a mixed success of 61% on Steam, with an online peak of 8,000 colonial marines.
