Xbox’s mythical achievements have been discussed online for about a week, although they haven’t been officially announced yet. Previously, it was reported that they would be “Platinum” analogues on the Playstation. Details on how they will work, what kind of animations they will get, and a lot of other information have already surfaced online.
Discussions about Xbox’s mythical achievements began when players mentioned them in the console’s firmware. In the internal version of the Alpha Skip-Ahead software, within the achievement filtering system, we find the ability to sort items by all achieved and unrealized Mythic achievements. You can see what this section looks like in the image below.
Microsoft released a new version of the firmware to Alpha Skip-Ahead insiders on September 28. It provides a new feature and some minor fixes. At the same time, all references to Mythic achievements have been removed from the Achievements section.
It’s unclear when Microsoft plans to fully roll out Mythic achievements. Earlier rumors suggested the news could be announced this week.
