Some time ago, CD Projekt RED unexpectedly announced a remastered version of “The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt”, and then even more unexpectedly announced that it will be released on September 29 and will be free to all owners of the original game. Well, the designated day and time have arrived, and everyone can start the channel. To make sure your “machine” can handle all this splendor, the developers release Detailed system requirements for the remastered version.
In fact, your computer doesn’t need anything special, unless of course you’re obsessed with ray tracing, and especially path tracing.
As the basic minimum requirements for playing the remaster at low-quality settings at 30 frames per second and 1080p resolution, the developers specify a system with an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 processor. Processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or Intel Arc A580 XT.
To play 1080p games at 60 frames per second at high quality settings, you’ll need an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580 graphics card.
Finally, “ultra settings,” which means playback at “impressive” quality settings of 1440p resolution and 60 frames per second, will require a more demanding system. That is: Intel Core i7-13700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or Intel Arc B580 (XeSS) graphics card.
There are three other blocks of system requirements that directly address ray tracing and path tracing, but within the framework of this material we will not mention them in the text. Firstly, the demand for these settings is not that strong, and secondly, the material is huge anyway. Luckily, the developers provided a screenshot of a table describing everything in detail.
