Montage Technology has begun mass production of the fastest CKD chips to date, providing a data transfer rate of 9200 MT/s for mainstream memory modules and 8000 MT/s for server DDR5 RDIMMs.
The main new product is CK01P, which complies with JEDEC DDR5CKD01 specification. The chip is designed for CUDIMM, CSODIMM, CQDIMM, CAMM and other future memory standards and operates at speeds up to 9200 MT/s. It supports three clock modes, including single PLL, dual PLL and PLL bypass, and its zero-phase delay architecture allows delays to be programmed individually for each channel. In addition, the driver can turn off unused outputs, thereby reducing power consumption.
For the server field, Montage Technology has launched mass production of RCD05, corresponding to DDR5RCD05. It is designed specifically for RDIMMs with speeds up to 8000 MT/s, approximately 11% higher than the previous RCD04. The design uses a low-jitter PLL and CTLE and ZQ calibration to improve signal integrity. According to Steven Tai, president of Montage Technology, the company plans to continue developing server memory interface solutions.
The emergence of new drivers coincides with the growing demand for DDR5, which further promotes the development of artificial intelligence. Chinese manufacturers have already mastered 8000 MT/s modules, and the emergence of the CK01P has opened the way to faster kits for consumer systems. Granted, mass production of new chips doesn’t mean such modules will be in every home computer tomorrow.
