The team at Embark Studios has announced major changes to the progression system of action shooter ARC Raiders. In the upcoming major update for Frozen, which will be released on October 8, 2026, the developers will completely abandon the Raider Decks mechanic and replace it with a full-fledged Reward Pass.
As the author explains in the official blog, the old system faced balance difficulties: players accumulated too much Cred currency and completely shut down new decks on launch day, causing the incentive to earn rewards to disappear. The new system aims to correct this imbalance by inviting players to complete special challenges (feats) with cosmetics, weapons, and tokens.
The Frozen update will offer two passes at the same time:
- Frozen Reward Pass: Contains 60 levels, with free and premium tiers. The free route will offer new basic clothing, gear, and up to 200 tokens, while the premium route (worth 1,150 tokens) will offer unique modifications, hairstyles, and colors, giving you a full refund of the currency you spent upon completion. The developers specifically note that items do not affect gameplay (there is no pay-to-win mechanic).
- Legacy Rewards Pass: A free pass that collects all cosmetic rewards and tokens from the Far Raiders deck into one place.
