SteelSeries has launched a new generation of gaming mice, Sensei Pro and Rival Pro. Both models are available in two variants (standard and compact) and are equipped with advanced hardware and software technology.

A key feature of the new Sensei Pro and Rival Pro is support for wideband wireless mode (Ultra Wideband, UWB). For this purpose, the mouse is equipped with a special transceiver that operates in the frequency range 6.4 to 9.056 GHz. According to the company, using UWB can increase throughput by twenty times, allowing you to take advantage of this ultra-fast range and use multiple wireless channels simultaneously. This ensures high performance, stable signal transmission and high-quality wireless communication (up to 8000 polling rate), ensuring reliability and low latency even under difficult operating conditions.
While 8K is popular right now, gamers don’t always take full advantage of 8000Hz (8K) polling rates. This is hampered by severe congestion in the 2.4 GHz band and the high power consumption of the technology itself. The presence of multiple wireless devices (mouse, wireless headsets, smartphones, and other gadgets) operating within the range of a 2.4 GHz wireless network can overload the data transmission channel and cause device conflicts. According to SteelSeries, the solution to this problem is to use wideband wireless mode (UWB).
The SteelSeries Sensei Pro is ambidextrous for right-handed users and features six programmable buttons. The standard version measures 125.6 x 66.5 x 38.6 mm and weighs 53/54 grams (black and white). The compact version of the Sensei Pro Mini measures 118.0 × 65.4 × 36.2 mm and weighs 49 grams in black and 50 grams in white. The left and right mouse buttons use opto-mechanical switches with a lifespan of 100 million clicks. The mouse is equipped with a new TrueMove 42K Pro optical sensor with a resolution of 42,000 DPI, a speed of 800 IPS, an acceleration of 70G, and a maximum frame capture rate of 20,000 FPS. This sensor supports LOD settings (separation level from surface ranging from 0.7 to 1.7 mm). The mouse also comes with onboard memory that allows you to store a configuration profile.
SteelSeries Rival Pro offers an ergonomic design. The standard version of the Rival Pro mouse measures 125.7 x 68.2 x 42.2 mm and weighs 53/54 grams (black/white). The small Rival Pro Mini measures 120.7 x 65.4 x 40.5 mm and weighs 49 grams (black) and 50 grams (white). This model also comes with six programmable buttons. Optomechanical switches for the left and right buttons have a resource of 100 million clicks, as well as TrueMove 42K Pro optical sensors with the same functionality as the Sensei Pro models. It also has onboard memory that allows you to store a configuration profile.
The included UWB transceiver also serves as a charging station for the mouse’s removable battery. Each model comes with two batteries. Each battery provides up to 16 hours of UWB wideband at 8000 Hz (two batteries – 32 hours), or up to 60 hours at 1000 Hz (two batteries – 120 hours).
The manufacturer also provides a set of spare feet and anti-slip stickers for a better grip on each mouse.
The mouse’s software settings can be configured through the proprietary SteelSeries GG application and web interface. The company described the customization options for the new products it showcased as follows:

SteelSeries has priced all versions of its latest Sensei Pro and Rival Pro gaming mice at $179.99. Pre-orders for new products will begin on September 29th, and retail sales will begin on October 13th.
