As promised, the developers of Polish studio CD Projekt Red released an updated version of the critically acclaimed open-world action role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” on September 29 at 13:00 Moscow time.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is released on PC (steam, GOG, EGS, Battle.net), PS5, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch 2 as standalone products, with free updates for owners of the base game.
The announcement of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is accompanied by an extensive two-minute overview trailer, showcasing the updated version’s key gameplay and technical features.
The remaster offers improved graphics (lighting, visual effects, textures, models), combat system and skill tree, expanded photo mode, path tracing on PC, cross-platform mod support and other innovations.
The re-release also includes the story supplements Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine – even owners of the base version can access them. The third additional content “Ballads of the Past” (songs from the past) is expected to be released in 2027.

Ahead of today’s release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has become the highest-rated game of 2026, according to review aggregator metacritic. The PC version of the remake has a score of 94 points (out of 100%).
The result puts The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered ahead of twin-stick shooter Sektori in other metrics (while 94%), role-playing game Trails in the Sky Chapter 2 (91%) and the cooperative adventure Big Walk (91%).
