Today, the last day of September, Japanese platform holder Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced propose A selection of games for October PlayStation Plus basic rate subscribers.

First available to PS Plus users in October will be F1 25, the PS5 racing simulator launched last year, but still the latest version. The May 2026 Season Pack expansion containing content for the 2026 Season is not included in the release.
Second in October’s picks is the PS5 version of evacuation shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896, which will receive the second chapter of the bloody Testament content update on October 6 (the first chapter was released on September 8).
The third PS Plus release for October is the voxel action game Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for PS4 and PS5, in which players must save a planet split into cubes by giant alien monsters and insects.

Users in the comments were very disappointed with the October PS Plus series. “Worst serious candidate this month”,— noticed Moonshake0 in a discussion about the choice on the Reddit forum.
It’s worth noting that in past years, the October PS Plus selection has included high-profile/high-quality horror games: 2023’s Callisto Protocol, 2024’s Dead Space Remastered, 2025’s Alan Wake 2.
