The classic gothic board game based on RPG is back! Crowdfunding campaign relaunches after cancellation in order to fundamentally revamp the board game.
A character-based board game in the classic Gothic style? Have you heard it before? This is not surprising, as plans for Gothic: Shadow’s Quest have existed for months. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on the Gamefound platform. However, this was eventually canceled and scrapped in order to once again fundamentally modify the board game – and now the project is back.
You can find it now on Gamefound new funding campaignbasically the target is 75,000 euros to be able to realize the board game. The good news: This goal has already been achieved in a short period of time, so now it’s just a matter of achieving additional goals.
As of the time of this report, the campaign has raised over €155,000, meaning it has already doubled its original target. The crowdfunding campaign will last for 22 days until it ends.
In the board game implementation, you play as a shadow or novice fire mage from an old camp, hoping to make a name for himself in the colony. You can play alone or with up to three friends. If needed, another person can take on the role of game leader. Dangerous missions and deadly opponents await you – and your decisions during the campaign should actually change the game world.
As part of the campaign, several versions are available – from the standard version priced at 80 euros to the all-round version priced at 249 euros. In between, there are other variants that offer higher quality equipment outside of gaming, such as in the form of improved acrylic figures and assorted inserts. There is also a set of 107 miniatures of heroes, monsters and bosses.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This board game is only available through Gamefound and cannot be purchased in stores. If you want to participate, you must make it clear that it is part of a funding campaign.
