An enthusiast nicknamed Sad-Victory-8319 has successfully overclocked the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti’s memory to an impressive 39 Gbps, significantly exceeding the standard 28 Gbps. In our experiments we used a Gigabyte graphics card and the mVolt+ Extreme utility, which allows you to bypass the limitations of standard overclocking procedures.
The user increased the memory frequency by 5500 MHz compared to the original value. As a result, the throughput reaches about 1248GB/s, which is about 40% higher than the standard value. The most common utilities, including MSI Afterburner, limit memory overclocking on the RTX 5070 Ti to a significantly lower offset, around 3000 MHz.
However, this experiment did not provide a significant improvement in gaming performance. In Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing, each additional 1000 MHz yields approximately one frame per second. So that’s an increase of about 5.5 FPS relative to stock. But in the comprehensive 3DMark Steel Nomad test, the results were about 20% higher.
Attempting to increase the offset to 6000 MHz caused the video driver to crash and reset the settings. Additionally, overclocking results depend on the specific instance of the graphics card, so not everyone will be able to replicate this metric.
