The upcoming Diablo 5, tentatively scheduled for release in spring 2029, will offer players a reimagined way to fight. The project’s senior game director, Joe Sheley, assured the community that the combat system will move from purely dynamic mechanics to in-depth strategic planning and capable character training.
The statement comes in response to concerns from Grinding Gear Games co-founder Chris Wilson. Previously, an industry veteran criticized the series’ tendency to veer towards arcade action games, expressing hope that the sequel would return to the classic game’s principles of achieving victory through proper assembly. According to Shelley, developers are taking this approach and prioritizing the synergy of abilities and gear.
Let us remind you that the events of the fifth part will unfold a century after the ending of the fourth game, and players will receive not the usual safe city, but a fleet of mobile satellites.
