Following the release of The Witcher 3 Remastered, CD Projekt RED has revealed some new details about the Song of the Past DLC, which they plan to release for the game in 2027. Previously, the developers have stated that this new addition cannot be implemented in the base game, so a remastered version of the project will need to be developed.
In an interview, Karolina Kuzya-Rokosz, director of Fool Theory Studio, which is developing new DLC gas chromatography Clarified some points related to additions. She specifically said that “Song of the Past” takes into account the decisions of players of other DLC for “The Witcher 3”.
From a practical perspective, players can start playing Song of the Past immediately after completing the main story. This way you don’t have to complete other expansions. Chronologically, however, these additions take place before, so we continue the story from the moment Geralt does want to retire, but is unable to do so due to his best friend asking him to help keep him company.
Of course, we’ll continue the story based on whether players complete the second expansion. This is reflected in the plot, dialogue, consequences, and more. But you don’t need to have completed the previous expansion to start Songs of the Past.
Currently, the release date of the DLC “Ballads of the Past” for “The Witcher 3 Remake” has not yet been determined. Let us remind you that in the remake of the base project, players immediately receive two previous major supplementary contents for free.
Prior to this, CD Projekt RED studio confirmed that “The Ballad of the Past” will not receive a Russian dub.
