As a veteran of the MMORPG genre, the classic Final Fantasy XI becomes more accessible to new players. Square Enix has officially updated the long-running game, overhauling its trial access conditions.

The main change is the complete removal of the 14-day limit, which had previously caused newcomers to flock to the service and often be scared away due to the high entry barrier. Additionally, the maximum character level in the trial has been raised from an immediate level of 50 to 75, a milestone level in the original era of the project. No additional content is included in the trial, and the developers have kept some restrictions in place to prevent gold fraud: free players cannot trade, use auctions, accumulate more than 100,000 gold, or create groups of their own (although they can join parties at the invitation of subscribers).

With this move, the legendary world of Vana’diel is now open to everyone to explore at their own pace without having to purchase a subscription outright.
