In the latest issue of Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, the Atlus team shared interesting details about the creation of the Persona 4: Resurrection remake. It turns out that during the production process, the appearance of one of the key figures, martial arts enthusiast Chie Satonaka, caused a heated creative debate between 3D modelers and 2D art enthusiasts.

The cause of the controversy was the proportions of the girl’s hips. The modellers deliberately made the 3D model’s legs more muscular and dense – Chie is an active fan of kung fu movies and performs devastating kicks during battles, so the animators wanted her movements and kicks to look as dynamically convincing and sharp as possible. However, in the official illustration for the show, the artist originally depicted her hips as noticeably slimmer. Development director Yajima admitted that the team had to have separate discussions to find the perfect balance between the realistic movement of the 3D models and the iconic anime look of the 2D art. Additionally, the author has specifically stylized the color palette to match classic anime paint jobs to preserve the spirit of the original game.

Persona 4: Resurgence is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 18, 2027, and the game will be available on Switch 2 on May 20.
