Venture capital Krit Ventures announced its investment in South Korean studio JadeDragon Games. Main Street Ventures and other investors also participated in the round. The amount of investment has not been disclosed.

The studio was founded in June by Lee Jun-seok, the former technical director of Odin: Valhalla Rising developer Lionheart Studio. He’s also joined by experts who worked with him on Korean MMORPGs Lost Ark and Nightcrow. Now the team is working on Project D, an MMORPG that can be played cross-platform between PC and mobile devices.

The game revolves around medieval fantasy. Features described include:

  • A combat system with mobile attacks;
  • Runes, with which you can customize your character’s skills and appearance;
  • Tamed monsters: can be used as pets or mounts;
  • Large-scale PvP, guild battles and territorial battles.

With funding from investors, the studio will expand its team and accelerate development. They plan to complete Project D within two years, that is, in 2028. The game will be released first in South Korea and Taiwan, followed by other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Let us remind you that Kakao Games recently released an update for Odin: Valhalla Rising, which includes a new season of class balancing and class changes.
