Well-known overclocking expert Vince “Kingpin” Lucido has announced that he will return to extreme overclocking of computer equipment, and ASUS is obviously involved in his future plans. The former EVGA overclocker has launched an independent YouTube channel called Overclock Kingpin, where he plans to focus on computer hardware, especially extreme overclocking.

According to the enthusiast, he already has the necessary equipment from Asus and Corsair to boot. Even more interestingly, he confirmed the fact that he had held multiple talks with ASUS executives, noting that the company had approached him multiple times with proposals to return to the computer hardware industry.
“If they hadn’t been so persistent, I wouldn’t be recording this right now.”,— explain Lucido in the latest released video. He did not specify what exactly he would do with Asus. Vince said he didn’t want to raise expectations just yet, but promised to reveal details of this phase of his return on the new channel. At present, it has not been confirmed whether Kingpin branded graphics cards, motherboards or other ASUS products will be released.
We can assume that we are talking about extreme overclocking support for Asus components. The manufacturer already offers overclockers an impressive range of graphics cards and motherboards, including special editions, so it’s hard to imagine there’s room for more of the company’s Kingpin series of graphics cards now.
EVGA’s main selling graphics cards of various generations
It is worth adding that in January 2025, Lucido said that he had no plans to develop a GeForce RTX 50 Kingpin graphics card, although it was possible to cooperate with Taiwanese company PNY at the time. He then mentioned contract restrictions and confirmed that talks with Asus were ongoing, but no concrete results had been achieved.
Lucido now claims to be completely free from any contractual obligations or restrictions. He also began to miss extreme overclocking, something he has been doing for more than 25 years. The new studio gave him enough space to create dedicated overclocking equipment next to his existing e-bike workshop.
His personal cycling channel will continue to cover the topic of electric bike modifications. All computer equipment related content will be moved to this channel overclocking kingpin.
