Streaming service Peacock has greenlit the first-ever TV series based on the box office franchise “The Fast and the Furious,” which has grossed more than $7 billion at the global box office over 25 years.

The project is being developed by writers and showrunners Mike Daniels and Wolf Coleman, with series star Vin Diesel serving as executive producer. The series was announced at an NBCUniversal press conference in New York, along with plans for three more TV spinoffs. The Universal TV show is scheduled to premiere in 2028, around the time of the release of Fast Forever, the eleventh and final film in the series.
